Tasting Notes

Fresh, aromatic, and beautifully balanced, the 2024 Cuvée Lône Blanc offers aromas of ripe nectarine, white peach, citrus blossom, and lemon zest, complemented by subtle Mediterranean herbs and mineral notes. The palate combines the generosity of southern Rhône white varieties with bright acidity and a refreshing texture. Layers of orchard fruit, citrus, and delicate floral character lead to a clean, persistent finish.

About the Winery, Production & Critical Reputation

Château Pégau belongs to the Féraud family, the celebrated owners of Domaine du Pégau, one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's most respected and historic estates. The family has established an international reputation for producing traditional Rhône wines that emphasize indigenous grape varieties, regional character, and minimal intervention.

Cuvée Lône Blanc is produced in the Côtes du Rhône appellation from a blend of Clairette, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, and Ugni Blanc. These traditional southern Rhône varieties contribute complementary characteristics: Clairette provides delicate aromatics, Bourboulenc brings freshness and acidity, Grenache Blanc adds body and texture, and Ugni Blanc contributes additional brightness.

The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified entirely in stainless steel, preserving their natural fruit expression and aromatic purity without the influence of oak. The resulting wine offers a distinctive introduction to the white-wine traditions of the southern Rhône, a region more commonly associated with its powerful Grenache-based reds.
