The 2023 La Framboisière is an elegant and expressive Pinot Noir, showing aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, red cherry, and violet with subtle notes of spice, earth, and fresh herbs. The palate is lively and finely textured, with bright acidity and polished tannins framing juicy red berry fruit. Fresh, precise, and distinctly Burgundian, the wine finishes with lingering red fruit, gentle savoury notes, and an attractive mineral character.

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's historic family-owned domaines, founded in 1825 and today managed by the seventh generation of the Faiveley family. The domaine owns an extensive collection of vineyards throughout Burgundy, with particularly important holdings in the Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise, and has earned a reputation for producing structured, terroir-driven wines with excellent aging potential.
La Framboisière is particularly interesting because it is a monopole, meaning Domaine Faiveley owns the entire vineyard. Located in Mercurey in the Côte Chalonnaise, the vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir and has long been associated with an especially fragrant, red-fruited expression of Mercurey. The name Framboisière, derived from the French word for raspberry, is fitting given the bright raspberry and red berry character frequently found in the wine. Careful fermentation and maturation in French oak add structure and complexity without obscuring the purity of the fruit. It is a strong example of how serious and distinctive Pinot Noir from the Côte Chalonnaise can be.
