Le Potazzine is one of the most admired traditional estates in Montalcino, producing some of the region’s most elegant and terroir-driven Brunello. Founded by Giuseppe Gorelli and now led by Gigliola Giannetti with her daughters Viola and Sofia, the estate takes its name from the local nickname for small colourful birds, symbolizing the two daughters. The winery focuses exclusively on Sangiovese, farming high-elevation vineyards and following a classic approach with long aging in large Slavonian oak casks rather than heavy new oak influence.
