About the Winery, Production & Critical Reputation

Mastroberardino is one of southern Italy's most historically important wine estates and has played a major role in preserving and promoting the indigenous grape varieties of Campania. The Mastroberardino family has been involved in wine production for generations and became particularly important during the 20th century for maintaining varieties such as Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, and Falanghina when many growers were replacing traditional grapes with international varieties.

Falanghina del Sannio comes from the Sannio area of Campania and is produced from the native Falanghina grape. The variety is prized for its naturally vibrant acidity, citrus and floral aromatics, and subtle mineral character. Modern temperature-controlled fermentation helps retain its freshness and aromatic purity. Mastroberardino's longstanding commitment to Campania's indigenous grapes has made the estate an international reference point for the wines of southern Italy.
