The 2021 Perlato del Bosco Sangiovese is an expressive and beautifully structured Tuscan red, offering aromas of ripe red cherry, wild raspberry, blackberry, and violet alongside notes of Mediterranean herbs, tobacco, leather, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins, and an excellent balance between concentrated fruit and savoury complexity. Hints of dried herbs, earthy minerality, and spice carry through to a long, elegant finish.
About the Winery, Production & Critical Reputation
Tua Rita is one of Tuscany's most respected wine estates, located near the coastal town of Suvereto in the Maremma region. Founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti, the estate rose to international prominence through its exceptional red wines, particularly the iconic Redigaffi Merlot, which helped establish Tua Rita among Italy's leading fine wine producers.
While Tua Rita is internationally celebrated for its Bordeaux-inspired wines, Perlato del Bosco showcases the estate's dedication to Tuscany's signature grape, Sangiovese. Produced entirely from Sangiovese, the wine reflects the distinctive coastal terroir of Suvereto, where mineral-rich soils, Mediterranean sunshine, and cooling maritime influences contribute to ripe fruit, freshness, and structure.
The wine is carefully vinified to preserve Sangiovese's natural acidity, aromatic complexity, and savoury character, with oak maturation adding depth and refinement without overwhelming the fruit. The excellent 2021 Tuscan growing season produced wines with concentration, balance, and aging potential.
